Boltz-2
Open structure and binding-affinity prediction model, MIT for code and weights.
Wohlwend, Corso, Passaro et al. (MIT CSAIL) / boltz.bio
What it does
Open AlphaFold3-class structure prediction plus binding affinity. Input: YAML/FASTA with protein, ligand and nucleic-acid chains, optional templates and affinity query; output: predicted complex with confidence scores and a predicted binding affinity value for the ligand.
Commercial use
Commercial use OKLicence as writtenMIT License
LICENSE file is MIT and the README states explicitly that all code and weights are MIT, freely usable for academic and commercial purposes.
The licence read at the source allows use by a company. Attribution or copyleft conditions may still apply — read the note.
Is commercial use free of charge?
Free for commercial useFree, and cleanly so: MIT covers both code and weights, which is why it is the usual commercial replacement for AlphaFold 3.
Price and rights are separate: this panel is about money, the panel above is about permission.
When to use it
The pragmatic commercial substitute for AlphaFold 3, with an affinity-prediction head. Its affinity outputs are predictions, not measured KD, and should only be used to rank, never to report numbers.
