AlphaFold Protein Structure Database
Precomputed AlphaFold structure predictions for most known proteins.
Google DeepMind and EMBL-EBI
What it does
Precomputed structure predictions. Input: a UniProt accession; output: the AlphaFold model with pLDDT/PAE - the fastest way to get a usable structure for a target with no crystal.
Commercial use
Commercial use OKLicence as writtenCreative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)
The AlphaFold DB homepage and download page both state: 'Data is available for academic and commercial use, under a CC-BY-4.0 licence.'
The licence read at the source allows use by a company. Attribution or copyleft conditions may still apply — read the note.
Is commercial use free of charge?
Free for commercial useFree under CC BY 4.0 - note this is the database of predictions, which is licensed far more openly than the AlphaFold 3 weights.
Price and rights are separate: this panel is about money, the panel above is about permission.
When to use it
Use to grab a target model instantly instead of folding it yourself. These are predictions with pLDDT confidence, not experimental structures, and low-pLDDT regions should not be treated as real conformations.
