The OAS homepage states: 'Please note that the data contained within OAS is available under a CC-BY 4.0 license.'
The licence read at the source allows use by a company. Attribution or copyleft conditions may still apply — read the note.
Is commercial use free of charge?
Free for commercial useFree under CC BY 4.0, including for commercial training runs; attribute OAS and the underlying studies.
Price and rights are separate: this panel is about money, the panel above is about permission.
When to use it
Use for training or benchmarking antibody language models and for germline/naturalness baselines. Study-level batch effects and uneven donor coverage mean naive frequency statistics mislead.
