mBER
Open antibody binder design by backprop through AlphaFold-Multimer, format-specific.
Manifold Bio
What it does
Designs antibody binders in a chosen format. Input: target structure plus a framework/format template (VHH, Fab, scFv) and epitope; output: designed CDR sequences and predicted complexes, by optimising through AlphaFold-Multimer with sequence conditioning and structure templates.
Commercial use
Commercial use OKLicence as writtenMIT License
MIT LICENSE file (Copyright 2025 Manifold Bio), and the README's License section repeats MIT. Caveat to check yourself: its download_weights.sh pulls roughly 9 GB of third-party weights (AlphaFold2, NanoBodyBuilder2, ESM-2) whose own terms apply - AlphaFold2 parameters are CC BY 4.0 and the others are permissive, which is why this still reads as a yes.
The licence read at the source allows use by a company. Attribution or copyleft conditions may still apply — read the note.
Is commercial use free of charge?
Free for commercial useNo fee: MIT code and freely downloadable third-party weights. Your cost is GPU time, which for backprop-through-AF2 design is the real expense.
Price and rights are separate: this panel is about money, the panel above is about permission.
When to use it
A good open alternative to RFantibody when you care about the final antibody format rather than a generic binder, and you already have AlphaFold2 infrastructure. Backprop designs are GPU-expensive per candidate.
