AlphaProteo
DeepMind's binder design system - no code or weights released; trusted-tester access only.
Google DeepMind
What it does
Designs de novo protein binders to a specified target site, with reported nanomolar-to-picomolar affinities straight out of the model. Input (per the trusted-tester notebook): a target PDB ID and the target region; output: binder designs returned by DeepMind, not computed locally. There is no model you can run.
Commercial use
UnverifiedLicence as writtenApache License 2.0 covers only the input-preparation notebooks in the public repo; the model itself is unreleased
The only public artefact is the ap_trusted_testers repository, whose README describes a Colab that helps 'users of the AlphaProteo Trusted Tester Program' prototype requests and visualise target regions - an input builder, not the model. No weights, no inference code and no terms for commercial use of the designs are published, so rights are unverified.
We could not find a published statement that settles it (often: the model weights carry no licence). Treat as unknown.
Is commercial use free of charge?
Cost unverifiedNo price exists because no product exists. Access is by DeepMind's trusted-tester programme, whose commercial terms are not published.
Price and rights are separate: this panel is about money, the panel above is about permission.
When to use it
Nothing to adopt today: include it in a landscape review, not a pipeline. BindCraft, RFdiffusion and BoltzGen are what you can actually run for binder design.
